The PROM1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12711) is a versatile tool for researchers studying PROM1, a cell surface protein associated with stemness and tumorigenesis. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is optimized for Western blot applications.PROM1, also known as CD133, is a marker for cancer stem cells and is linked to tumor initiation and progression in various types of cancer. By targeting PROM1, researchers can investigate its role in cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and self-renewal, offering insights into cancer biology and potential therapeutic strategies.
With its ability to specifically bind to PROM1, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis of the protein in a variety of cell types, making it an essential tool for studies in oncology and stem cell research. By unraveling the mechanisms underlying PROM1's functions, researchers can advance our understanding of cancer development and potentially uncover novel approaches for cancer treatment.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 179-433 of human CD133 (NP_006008.1).
This gene encodes a pentaspan transmembrane glycoprotein. The protein localizes to membrane protrusions and is often expressed on adult stem cells, where it is thought to function in maintaining stem cell properties by suppressing differentiation. Mutations in this gene have been shown to result in retinitis pigmentosa and Stargardt disease. Expression of this gene is also associated with several types of cancer. This gene is expressed from at least five alternative promoters that are expressed in a tissue-dependent manner. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
