The PRMT6 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB10007) is a valuable tool for researchers studying PRMT6, a protein involved in various cellular processes, including gene transcription, mRNA splicing, and DNA repair. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with PRMT6 in human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.PRMT6 is a member of the protein arginine methyltransferase (PRMT) family and plays a crucial role in the regulation of gene expression through the methylation of histone and non-histone proteins. Dysregulation of PRMT6 has been implicated in cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and immune disorders, making it a promising target for therapeutic intervention.
By using the PRMT6 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can accurately detect and quantify PRMT6 levels in various cell types, providing valuable insights into the role of PRMT6 in disease development and progression. This antibody is a valuable tool for studies in cell biology, epigenetics, and cancer research, offering new opportunities for understanding the complex functions of PRMT6 in health and disease.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-375 of human PRMT6 (NP_060607.2).
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the arginine N-methyltransferase family, which catalyze the sequential transfer of methyl group from S-adenosyl-L-methionine to the side chain nitrogens of arginine residues within proteins, to form methylated arginine derivatives and S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine. This protein can catalyze both, the formation of omega-N monomethylarginine and asymmetrical dimethylarginine, with a strong preference for the latter. It specifically mediates the asymmetric dimethylation of Arg2 of histone H3, and the methylated form represents a specific tag for epigenetic transcriptional repression. This protein also forms a complex with, and methylates DNA polymerase beta, resulting in stimulation of polymerase activity by enhancing DNA binding and processivity.
