The PRMT6 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB7814) is a valuable tool for researching PRMT6, a protein with important functions in cell biology and gene regulation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to PRMT6, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis of the protein in various cell types, making it an essential component for studies in molecular biology and cancer research.PRMT6, a member of the protein arginine methyltransferase (PRMT) family, plays a key role in the modification of proteins by adding methyl groups to arginine residues.
This modification is known to regulate diverse cellular processes, including gene expression, RNA processing, and signal transduction. Understanding the function of PRMT6 is essential for unraveling its involvement in diseases such as cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and cardiovascular conditions. Utilizing the PRMT6 Polyclonal Antibody is crucial for gaining insights into the mechanisms underlying these diseases and developing targeted therapies for their treatment.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-375 of human PRMT6 (NP_060607.2).
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the arginine N-methyltransferase family, which catalyze the sequential transfer of methyl group from S-adenosyl-L-methionine to the side chain nitrogens of arginine residues within proteins, to form methylated arginine derivatives and S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine. This protein can catalyze both, the formation of omega-N monomethylarginine and asymmetrical dimethylarginine, with a strong preference for the latter. It specifically mediates the asymmetric dimethylation of Arg2 of histone H3, and the methylated form represents a specific tag for epigenetic transcriptional repression. This protein also forms a complex with, and methylates DNA polymerase beta, resulting in stimulation of polymerase activity by enhancing DNA binding and processivity.
