The PRKAG3 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB14132) is a valuable tool for researchers studying PRKAG3, a protein involved in regulating energy metabolism and cardiac function. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the PRKAG3 protein, researchers can accurately detect and analyze its expression in various cell types.PRKAG3, also known as AMP-activated protein kinase subunit gamma-3, plays a crucial role in the AMPK signaling pathway, which regulates cellular energy balance and metabolism.
Dysregulation of PRKAG3 has been linked to metabolic disorders and cardiac abnormalities, making it a promising target for research in cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Understanding the role of PRKAG3 can provide valuable insights into developing targeted therapeutic strategies for these conditions.Overall, the PRKAG3 Polyclonal Antibody is an essential tool for investigating the function and regulation of PRKAG3 in physiological and pathological contexts, offering researchers valuable information for advancing our understanding of energy metabolism and cardiovascular health.

The protein encoded by this gene is a regulatory subunit of the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). AMPK is a heterotrimer consisting of an alpha catalytic subunit, and non-catalytic beta and gamma subunits. AMPK is an important energy-sensing enzyme that monitors cellular energy status. In response to cellular metabolic stresses, AMPK is activated, and thus phosphorylates and inactivates acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) and beta-hydroxy beta-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase (HMGCR), key enzymes involved in regulating de novo biosynthesis of fatty acid and cholesterol. This subunit is one of the gamma regulatory subunits of AMPK. It is dominantly expressed in skeletal muscle. Studies of the pig counterpart suggest that this subunit may play a key role in the regulation of energy metabolism in skeletal muscle.
