The PRKAG1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB7300) is a valuable tool for research involving PRKAG1, a protein that plays a key role in cellular energy homeostasis and signaling pathways. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the PRKAG1 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it a versatile option for studies in metabolism, signaling, and cellular stress responses.PRKAG1, also known as 5'-AMP-activated protein kinase regulatory subunit gamma-1, is a crucial regulatory subunit of the AMPK complex, which is involved in the cellular response to energy depletion and metabolic stress.
Dysregulation of PRKAG1 has been implicated in various metabolic disorders, including obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, making it a promising target for therapeutic interventions aimed at modulating metabolic pathways.By utilizing the PRKAG1 Polyclonal Antibody in research settings, scientists can gain valuable insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying metabolic regulation and energy balance. This antibody is an essential tool for investigating the role of PRKAG1 in disease pathogenesis and for developing novel strategies for the treatment of metabolic disorders.

The protein encoded by this gene is a regulatory subunit of the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). AMPK is a heterotrimer consisting of an alpha catalytic subunit, and non-catalytic beta and gamma subunits. AMPK is an important energy-sensing enzyme that monitors cellular energy status. In response to cellular metabolic stresses, AMPK is activated, and thus phosphorylates and inactivates acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) and beta-hydroxy beta-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase (HMGCR), key enzymes involved in regulating de novo biosynthesis of fatty acid and cholesterol. This subunit is one of the gamma regulatory subunits of AMPK. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been observed.
