The AMPK-1 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), a key regulator of cellular energy homeostasis and metabolism. This antibody, generated in rabbits, has high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the AMPK-1 protein, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of AMPK-1 in various cell types, making it ideal for investigations in metabolic disorders, diabetes, and cancer research.AMPK-1 is a critical enzyme that plays a central role in cellular energy sensing and regulation.
Dysregulation of AMPK activity has been linked to a variety of health conditions, making it an important target for therapeutic interventions. Understanding the function and activity of AMPK-1 is essential for developing targeted therapies that can effectively modulate cellular metabolism and energy balance. The AMPK-1 Polyclonal Antibody provides researchers with a reliable tool to further explore the complex role of AMPK in health and disease.

The protein encoded by this gene is a regulatory subunit of the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). AMPK is a heterotrimer consisting of an alpha catalytic subunit, and non-catalytic beta and gamma subunits. AMPK is an important energy-sensing enzyme that monitors cellular energy status. In response to cellular metabolic stresses, AMPK is activated, and thus phosphorylates and inactivates acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) and beta-hydroxy beta-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase (HMGCR), key enzymes involved in regulating de novo biosynthesis of fatty acid and cholesterol. This subunit is one of the gamma regulatory subunits of AMPK. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been observed.
