The PRKAA1/PRKAA2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB17290) is a valuable tool for researchers studying PRKAA1 and PRKAA2, key proteins involved in regulating cellular energy metabolism through the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) pathway. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.PRKAA1 and PRKAA2 are crucial in sensing and responding to changes in cellular energy levels, making them important targets for research into metabolic disorders, cancer, and other diseases. By detecting and analyzing the expression of these proteins in different cell types, researchers can gain insights into how the AMPK pathway regulates processes such as glucose uptake, lipid metabolism, and cell growth.
The PRKAA1/PRKAA2 Polyclonal Antibody is an essential tool for studying the role of AMPK signaling in biological processes and disease states, helping to uncover new therapeutic strategies for targeting metabolic dysregulation. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it ideal for use in immunology, cancer biology, and metabolic research.

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the ser/thr protein kinase family. It is the catalytic subunit of the 5'-prime-AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). AMPK is a cellular energy sensor conserved in all eukaryotic cells. The kinase activity of AMPK is activated by the stimuli that increase the cellular AMP/ATP ratio. AMPK regulates the activities of a number of key metabolic enzymes through phosphorylation. It protects cells from stresses that cause ATP depletion by switching off ATP-consuming biosynthetic pathways. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been observed.
