The PRKAA1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB16656) is a valuable tool for researchers studying PRKAA1, a key regulator of cellular energy metabolism and a master switch for controlling cell growth and proliferation. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits strong reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the PRKAA1 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an essential reagent for investigations in areas such as metabolism, cancer, and diabetes research.
PRKAA1, also known as AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), plays a crucial role in maintaining cellular energy balance by regulating processes such as glucose uptake and fatty acid oxidation. Dysregulation of PRKAA1 activity has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, diabetes, and metabolic disorders. Studying the function of PRKAA1 can provide valuable insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying these conditions and may lead to the development of novel therapeutic strategies aimed at restoring metabolic homeostasis.
Product Name:
AMPKα1 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB16656
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit

Human,Mouse,Rat
Immunogen:
A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 421-520 of human AMPKα1 (NP_006242.5).
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the ser/thr protein kinase family. It is the catalytic subunit of the 5'-prime-AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). AMPK is a cellular energy sensor conserved in all eukaryotic cells. The kinase activity of AMPK is activated by the stimuli that increase the cellular AMP/ATP ratio. AMPK regulates the activities of a number of key metabolic enzymes through phosphorylation. It protects cells from stresses that cause ATP depletion by switching off ATP-consuming biosynthetic pathways. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been observed.
