Description
PRDX1/PRDX2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB23438)
The PRDX1/PRDX2 Polyclonal Antibody is a vital tool for researchers studying Peroxiredoxin 1 (PRDX1) and Peroxiredoxin 2 (PRDX2), crucial antioxidant enzymes involved in the regulation of cellular redox balance. This antibody, generated through rabbit immunization, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards human samples, enabling accurate detection of PRDX1 and PRDX2 proteins in Western blotting applications.PRDX1 and PRDX2 play essential roles in protecting cells from oxidative stress and maintaining cellular homeostasis. Dysregulation of these enzymes has been linked to various diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and cardiovascular diseases.
By targeting PRDX1 and PRDX2, researchers can gain insights into the mechanism of redox signaling and develop novel therapeutic strategies for treating oxidative stress-related conditions. With its ability to detect PRDX1 and PRDX2 in diverse cell types, the PRDX1/PRDX2 Polyclonal Antibody is an invaluable tool for investigations in oxidative stress, cell signaling, and disease pathogenesis. Its reliability and specificity make it a valuable asset for researchers seeking to unravel the intricate roles of PRDX1 and PRDX2 in health and disease.

This gene encodes a member of the peroxiredoxin family of antioxidant enzymes, which reduce hydrogen peroxide and alkyl hydroperoxides. The encoded protein plays an antioxidant protective role in cells, and it may contribute to the antiviral activity of CD8(+) T-cells. The crystal structure of this protein has been resolved to 2.7 angstroms. This protein prevents hemolytic anemia from oxidative stress by stabilizing hemoglobin, thus making this gene a therapeutic target for patients with hemolytic anemia. This protein may have a proliferative effect and play a role in cancer development or progression. Related pseudogenes have been identified on chromosomes 5, 6, 10 and 13.
