The PPM1A Monoclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying PPM1A, a key protein phosphatase involved in the regulation of various cellular processes. This antibody, generated in mouse, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in applications such as Western blot and immunofluorescence.PPM1A, also known as protein phosphatase Mg2+/Mn2+ dependent 1A, plays a crucial role in dephosphorylating target proteins, thereby regulating their function and activity. Dysregulation of PPM1A has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders, making it a promising target for therapeutic intervention.
By using the PPM1A Monoclonal Antibody, researchers can detect and quantify PPM1A levels in different cell types and tissues, allowing for detailed investigation of its function and potential role in disease pathogenesis. This antibody is an essential tool for studies in molecular biology, cell signaling, and drug discovery, offering valuable insights into the complex mechanisms underlying cellular processes.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the PP2C family of Ser/Thr protein phosphatases. PP2C family members are known to be negative regulators of cell stress response pathways. This phosphatase dephosphorylates, and negatively regulates the activities of, MAP kinases and MAP kinase kinases. It has been shown to inhibit the activation of p38 and JNK kinase cascades induced by environmental stresses. This phosphatase can also dephosphorylate cyclin-dependent kinases, and thus may be involved in cell cycle control. Overexpression of this phosphatase is reported to activate the expression of the tumor suppressor gene TP53/p53, which leads to G2/M cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described.
