The PPL Polyclonal Antibody (CAB14051) is a key tool for researchers studying the PPL protein, a critical component involved in cell adhesion and regulating cell movement. This antibody, produced in rabbits, demonstrates high reactivity with human samples and is specifically validated for Western blot applications, enabling the detection and analysis of PPL in various cell types.PPL, also known as Periplakin, is essential for maintaining the structural integrity of epithelial tissues, including the skin and oral mucosa. Dysregulation of PPL expression has been associated with various skin disorders and cancers, highlighting its importance in cellular function and disease progression.
By targeting PPL with this antibody, researchers can gain valuable insights into its role in cell adhesion dynamics and potential implications in disease pathology. With its ability to specifically bind to PPL, the CAB14051 antibody is a valuable tool for studies exploring the molecular mechanisms of cell adhesion and migration, offering new possibilities for understanding and potentially targeting PPL-related pathways in biomedical research.

The protein encoded by this gene is a component of desmosomes and of the epidermal cornified envelope in keratinocytes. The N-terminal domain of this protein interacts with the plasma membrane and its C-terminus interacts with intermediate filaments. Through its rod domain, this protein forms complexes with envoplakin. This protein may serve as a link between the cornified envelope and desmosomes as well as intermediate filaments. AKT1/PKB, a protein kinase mediating a variety of cell growth and survival signaling processes, is reported to interact with this protein, suggesting a possible role for this protein as a localization signal in AKT1-mediated signaling.
