The PPBP Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1925) is a valuable tool for researchers studying PPBP, a protein associated with platelet activation and inflammation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity when used in Western blot applications with human samples. By binding to the PPBP protein, it enables the detection and analysis of PPBP in various cell types, making it an ideal choice for studies in immunology, hematology, and cardiovascular research.
PPBP, also known as platelet basic protein, plays a crucial role in promoting platelet aggregation and regulating inflammatory responses. Its involvement in these processes makes it a promising target for investigating conditions such as cardiovascular diseases, thrombosis, and inflammatory disorders. Understanding the function of PPBP is essential for developing targeted therapies that modulate platelet activity and inflammation in disease states.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 31-128 of human PPBP (NP_002695.1).
The protein encoded by this gene is a platelet-derived growth factor that belongs to the CXC chemokine family. This growth factor is a potent chemoattractant and activator of neutrophils. It has been shown to stimulate various cellular processes including DNA synthesis, mitosis, glycolysis, intracellular cAMP accumulation, prostaglandin E2 secretion, and synthesis of hyaluronic acid and sulfated glycosaminoglycan. It also stimulates the formation and secretion of plasminogen activator by synovial cells. The protein also is an antimicrobial protein with bactericidal and antifungal activity.
