The Porcine GFAP (Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein) ELISA Kit is specifically crafted to enable precise and quantitative detection of GFAP levels in diverse biological samples from porcine subjects. GFAP, a prominent intermediate filament protein abundant in astrocytes, serves as a fundamental marker for astrocytic activity and neuroinflammation, making it instrumental in studying various neurology-related aspects. Monitoring GFAP levels provides valuable insights into astrogliosis, neurodegenerative diseases, brain injury, and other neurological conditions in porcine models.
Designed with a focus on accuracy and reproducibility, the Porcine GFAP ELISA Kit by Assay Genie ensures exceptional sensitivity and specificity, guaranteeing dependable results for researchers investigating neurological processes in porcine samples. Engineered under strict quality control measures, this ELISA kit delivers consistent performance and user-friendly operation, offering a reliable and efficient solution for researchers studying astrocytic involvement and neuroinflammatory responses in porcine models.
This ELISA kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Porcine GFAP. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Porcine GFAP and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Porcine GFAP, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Porcine GFAP. You can calculate the concentration of Porcine GFAP in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.
