The PON2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB14048) is a powerful tool for researchers studying the paraoxonase family member 2 (PON2) protein. PON2 is known for its antioxidant properties and its role in lipid metabolism, making it a key player in various disease processes, including cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and cancer. This antibody, derived from rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the PON2 protein, this antibody allows for accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an essential tool for studies in molecular biology, biochemistry, and pharmaceutical research.
The PON2 Polyclonal Antibody is essential for understanding the intricate functions of PON2 and its potential implications in disease development and progression. By uncovering the mechanisms behind PON2's antioxidant activity and metabolic regulation, researchers can pave the way for innovative therapeutic approaches aimed at targeting PON2 for the treatment of various diseases.

This gene encodes a member of the paraoxonase gene family, which includes three known members located adjacent to each other on the long arm of chromosome 7. The encoded protein is ubiquitously expressed in human tissues, membrane-bound, and may act as a cellular antioxidant, protecting cells from oxidative stress. Hydrolytic activity against acylhomoserine lactones, important bacterial quorum-sensing mediators, suggests the encoded protein may also play a role in defense responses to pathogenic bacteria. Mutations in this gene may be associated with vascular disease and a number of quantitative phenotypes related to diabetes. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
