The PNP Polyclonal Antibody (CAB5778) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the enzyme purine nucleoside phosphorylase (PNP) in various biological processes. The antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to PNP, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis of PNP expression in different cell types, offering insights into its role in purine metabolism and immune response regulation.
PNP is a key enzyme involved in the catabolism of purine nucleosides, playing a critical role in maintaining nucleotide balance and cell proliferation. Dysregulation of PNP activity has been linked to disorders such as immunodeficiencies and autoimmune diseases, making it a compelling target for research in these areas. By studying PNP using this antibody, researchers can uncover new insights into its function and explore potential therapeutic strategies for related conditions.
Product Name:
PNP Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit

Human,Mouse
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-289 of human PNP (NP_000261.2).
This gene encodes an enzyme which reversibly catalyzes the phosphorolysis of purine nucleosides. The enzyme is trimeric, containing three identical subunits. Mutations which result in nucleoside phosphorylase deficiency result in defective T-cell (cell-mediated) immunity but can also affect B-cell immunity and antibody responses. Neurologic disorders may also be apparent in patients with immune defects. A known polymorphism at aa position 51 that does not affect enzyme activity has been described. A pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 2.
