Description
PNMT Monoclonal Antibody [PAT1C11] (CPAB0113)
The PNMT Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0113) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the enzyme PNMT, which is involved in the biosynthesis of the neurotransmitter norepinephrine. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific for human PNMT and has been validated for use in various applications, including Western blotting.PNMT, or Phenylethanolamine N-methyltransferase, is an important enzyme in the regulation of norepinephrine levels, which play a key role in the sympathetic nervous system. Dysregulation of PNMT has been implicated in various diseases, including hypertension and heart failure, making it a promising target for therapeutic interventions.
With its high reactivity and specificity for human PNMT, the CPAB0113 antibody is an essential tool for researchers investigating the role of PNMT in health and disease. Its use in Western blot applications allows for the detection and analysis of PNMT protein levels in various cell types, facilitating studies in neuroscience, cardiology, and endocrinology.

Background: | PNMT is an enzyme located in the adrenal medulla and it catalyzes the final step of the catecholamine biosynthesis pathway, which methylates norepinephrine to form epinephrine (adrenaline). PNMT has beta-carboline 2N-methyltransferase activity. PNMT takes part in regulating epinephrine production. Glucocorticoid receptors form multimers of PNMT independent of the DNA binding domain. PNMT expression is regulated late in mouse gestation by AP2-alpha and glucocorticoids. |
