The PNLIP Polyclonal Antibody (CAB6396) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the pancreatic lipase-related protein (PNLIP), an enzyme involved in the digestion of dietary fats. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific to PNLIP and is validated for use in various applications, including Western blot and immunohistochemistry.PNLIP plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism, breaking down triglycerides into fatty acids and monoglycerides for absorption in the small intestine. Dysregulation of PNLIP activity has been linked to disorders such as pancreatitis and obesity, making it a target of interest in metabolic research.
By enabling the detection and analysis of PNLIP in tissue samples and cell lines, this antibody is essential for understanding the functions and regulation of this important enzyme. Researchers studying lipid digestion, pancreatic function, and metabolic disorders will benefit from the use of the PNLIP Polyclonal Antibody in their experiments.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 166-465 of human PNLIP (NP_000927.1).
This gene encodes a member of the lipase family of proteins. The encoded enzyme is secreted by the pancreas and hydrolyzes triglycerides in the small intestine, and is essential for the efficient digestion of dietary fats. Inhibition of the encoded enzyme may prevent high-fat diet-induced obesity in mice and result in weight loss in human patients with obesity. Mutations in this gene cause congenital pancreatic lipase deficiency, a rare disorder characterized by steatorrhea.
