The Plasma Kallikrein Polyclonal Antibody (CAB5318) is a specialized research tool designed for studying plasma kallikrein, a serine protease involved in the kinin-kallikrein system that plays a critical role in inflammatory responses and blood coagulation. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been rigorously validated for use in Western blot applications.Plasma kallikrein is a key player in the complement system, contributing to the activation of inflammatory pathways and promoting vasodilation and increased vascular permeability. Dysregulation of plasma kallikrein activity has been implicated in various disease states, including hereditary angioedema and autoimmune disorders.
By targeting the plasma kallikrein protein, researchers can gain valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying these conditions and potentially identify novel therapeutic targets for intervention. The Plasma Kallikrein Polyclonal Antibody (CAB5318) offers a reliable tool for investigating the role of plasma kallikrein in health and disease, making it a valuable asset for studies in immunology, hematology, and inflammatory diseases.
Product Name:
KLKB1 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 20-300 of human KLKB1 (NP_000883.2).
This gene encodes a glycoprotein that participates in the surface-dependent activation of blood coagulation, fibrinolysis, kinin generation and inflammation. The encoded preproprotein present in plasma as a non-covalent complex with high molecular weight kininogen undergoes proteolytic processing mediated by activated coagulation factor XII to generate a disulfide-linked, heterodimeric serine protease comprised of heavy and light chains. Certain mutations in this gene cause prekallikrein deficiency. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
