The Plakophilin-2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB5507) is a valuable tool for researchers studying Plakophilin-2, a key component of desmosomes involved in cell-cell adhesion and signaling pathways. This antibody, raised in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is ideal for use in Western blot applications.Plakophilin-2 plays a crucial role in maintaining tissue integrity and is essential for the proper functioning of epithelial tissues, making it a target of interest in studies related to skin diseases, heart conditions, and cancer. By binding to Plakophilin-2, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis of the protein in various cell types, facilitating research in cell biology and disease mechanisms.
Understanding the role of Plakophilin-2 in cellular adhesion and signaling pathways is essential for developing targeted therapies for diseases associated with dysregulated cell-cell interactions. The Plakophilin-2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB5507) provides researchers with a reliable tool to investigate the functions of Plakophilin-2 and its implications in health and disease.

This gene encodes a member of the arm-repeat (armadillo) and plakophilin gene families. Plakophilin proteins contain numerous armadillo repeats, localize to cell desmosomes and nuclei, and participate in linking cadherins to intermediate filaments in the cytoskeleton. This gene may regulate the signaling activity of beta-catenin and is required to maintain transcription of genes that control intracellular calcium cycling including ryanodine receptor 2, ankyrin-B, triadin, and calcium channel, voltage-dependent, L type, alpha 1C. Mutations in this gene are associated with different inherited cardiac conditions including Arrythmogenic Cardiomyopathy, Brugada Syndrome, and Idiopathic Ventricular Fibrillation. A processed pseudogene with high similarity to this gene has been mapped to chromosome 12p13.
