The PLA2G4A Polyclonal Antibody (CAB0394) is a crucial tool for research involving PLA2G4A, an enzyme involved in the inflammation pathway. The antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the PLA2G4A protein, this antibody enables researchers to detect and analyze PLA2G4A levels in various cell types, making it ideal for studies in immunology and inflammation research.PLA2G4A, also known as cytosolic phospholipase A2 alpha, is a key player in the production of inflammatory mediators that contribute to various inflammatory diseases.
Understanding the role of PLA2G4A in the inflammation pathway is essential for developing targeted therapies for conditions such as arthritis, asthma, and cardiovascular disease. The PLA2G4A Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for investigating the function of PLA2G4A and advancing our understanding of inflammatory processes for potential therapeutic interventions.

This gene encodes a member of the cytosolic phospholipase A2 group IV family. The enzyme catalyzes the hydrolysis of membrane phospholipids to release arachidonic acid which is subsequently metabolized into eicosanoids. Eicosanoids, including prostaglandins and leukotrienes, are lipid-based cellular hormones that regulate hemodynamics, inflammatory responses, and other intracellular pathways. The hydrolysis reaction also produces lysophospholipids that are converted into platelet-activating factor. The enzyme is activated by increased intracellular Ca(2+) levels and phosphorylation, resulting in its translocation from the cytosol and nucleus to perinuclear membrane vesicles. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
