The Pitx2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1870) is a valuable tool for research involving Pitx2, a transcription factor that plays a critical role in development and disease. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in various applications including Western blotting and immunohistochemistry.Pitx2 is involved in the development of various tissues and organs, including the heart, eye, and brain. Dysregulation of Pitx2 has been implicated in a number of diseases, making it a key target for research in developmental biology and disease pathology.
This antibody binds specifically to the Pitx2 protein, allowing for accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types and tissues.By studying the function and regulation of Pitx2, researchers can gain insights into its role in normal development and disease processes. This antibody is an essential tool for investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying Pitx2-related disorders, and may lead to the development of novel therapeutic strategies in the future.

PITX2 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB1870
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG

Immunogen:
A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 1-100 of human Pituitary homeobox 2 (PITX2) (NP_000316.2).
This gene encodes a member of the RIEG/PITX homeobox family, which is in the bicoid class of homeodomain proteins. The encoded protein acts as a transcription factor and regulates procollagen lysyl hydroxylase gene expression. This protein plays a role in the terminal differentiation of somatotroph and lactotroph cell phenotypes, is involved in the development of the eye, tooth and abdominal organs, and acts as a transcriptional regulator involved in basal and hormone-regulated activity of prolactin. Mutations in this gene are associated with Axenfeld-Rieger syndrome, iridogoniodysgenesis syndrome, and sporadic cases of Peters anomaly. A similar protein in other vertebrates is involved in the determination of left-right asymmetry during development. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described.
