The Pick1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1519) is a valuable tool for researchers studying Pick1, a protein involved in neuronal signaling and synaptic plasticity. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity when detecting Pick1 in various experimental settings, including immunofluorescence and Western blot analysis.Pick1 is a crucial protein in the brain, where it regulates the trafficking and localization of neurotransmitter receptors, such as AMPA receptors, contributing to synaptic plasticity and memory formation. Dysregulation of Pick1 has been linked to neurological disorders, including Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease, making it an attractive target for therapeutic interventions.
By using the Pick1 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can gain insights into the function and expression of Pick1 in different cellular contexts, advancing our understanding of its role in normal brain function and disease pathology. This antibody is a valuable tool for neuroscientists and researchers interested in studying synaptic transmission, memory processes, and neurodegenerative disorders.

The protein encoded by this gene contains a PDZ domain, through which it interacts with protein kinase C, alpha (PRKCA). This protein may function as an adaptor that binds to and organizes the subcellular localization of a variety of membrane proteins. It has been shown to interact with multiple glutamate receptor subtypes, monoamine plasma membrane transporters, as well as non-voltage gated sodium channels, and may target PRKCA to these membrane proteins and thus regulate their distribution and function. This protein has also been found to act as an anchoring protein that specifically targets PRKCA to mitochondria in a ligand-specific manner. Three transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.
