The PICK1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB13574) is a powerful tool for researchers studying the PICK1 protein, a key player in synaptic transmission and plasticity. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to human PICK1 and has been validated for use in immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry applications.PICK1 is a scaffolding protein that interacts with various neurotransmitter receptors and ion channels, playing a crucial role in the regulation of synaptic transmission and plasticity. Dysregulation of PICK1 has been implicated in neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases.
The PICK1 Polyclonal Antibody allows for precise detection and analysis of PICK1 levels in different cell types, making it an essential tool for neuroscience research.By targeting PICK1, researchers can gain insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying synaptic transmission and plasticity, paving the way for the development of novel therapeutic strategies for neurological disorders. The PICK1 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable asset for scientists investigating the intricate workings of the brain and seeking to unravel the mysteries of synaptic function.

The protein encoded by this gene contains a PDZ domain, through which it interacts with protein kinase C, alpha (PRKCA). This protein may function as an adaptor that binds to and organizes the subcellular localization of a variety of membrane proteins. It has been shown to interact with multiple glutamate receptor subtypes, monoamine plasma membrane transporters, as well as non-voltage gated sodium channels, and may target PRKCA to these membrane proteins and thus regulate their distribution and function. This protein has also been found to act as an anchoring protein that specifically targets PRKCA to mitochondria in a ligand-specific manner. Three transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.
