The Phospho-Tumor Protein p73 (Y99) Polyclonal Antibody (CABP0465) is a key tool for researchers studying the phosphorylation of the tumor protein p73, a member of the p53 family involved in regulating cell cycle and apoptosis. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and is validated for use in Western blotting applications. The antibody specifically binds to the phosphorylated Y99 site on the tumor protein p73, allowing for precise detection and analysis in a variety of cell types. Its versatility and reliability make it an essential tool for investigating the role of phosphorylation in p73 signaling pathways, particularly in cancer research.
The tumor protein p73 is known to play a crucial role in promoting apoptosis and suppressing tumor growth, making it a promising target for therapeutic interventions in cancer treatment. By studying the phosphorylation of specific sites like Y99, researchers can gain valuable insights into the regulation of p73 activity and its impact on cellular processes related to cancer development and progression.

This gene encodes a member of the p53 family of transcription factors involved in cellular responses to stress and development. It maps to a region on chromosome 1p36 that is frequently deleted in neuroblastoma and other tumors, and thought to contain multiple tumor suppressor genes. The demonstration that this gene is monoallelically expressed (likely from the maternal allele), supports the notion that it is a candidate gene for neuroblastoma. Many transcript variants resulting from alternative splicing and/or use of alternate promoters have been found for this gene, but the biological validity and the full-length nature of some variants have not been determined.
