The STAT6 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB0755) is a valuable tool for researchers studying STAT6, a key transcription factor involved in regulating immune responses and inflammation. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and reactivity towards human samples, making it ideal for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the STAT6 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis of STAT6 expression in various cell types, providing valuable insights into immunological processes and diseases such as allergies, asthma, and certain types of cancer.
STAT6 plays a pivotal role in the differentiation of T-helper 2 (Th2) cells and the production of cytokines involved in allergic responses. Dysregulation of STAT6 signaling has been implicated in the pathogenesis of various immune-related disorders, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic target. By studying the function of STAT6 using this antibody, researchers can gain a better understanding of immune dysregulation and potentially identify new strategies for treating immune-mediated diseases.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the STAT family of transcription factors. In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT family members are phosphorylated by the receptor associated kinases, and then form homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the cell nucleus where they act as transcription activators. This protein plays a central role in exerting IL4 mediated biological responses. It is found to induce the expression of BCL2L1/BCL-X(L), which is responsible for the anti-apoptotic activity of IL4. Knockout studies in mice suggested the roles of this gene in differentiation of T helper 2 (Th2) cells, expression of cell surface markers, and class switch of immunoglobulins. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
