The Phospho-Sirt1 (S47) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (CABP0976) is a valuable tool for researchers studying Sirt1, a protein involved in various cellular processes including DNA repair, metabolism, and aging. This antibody specifically targets the phosphorylated form of Sirt1 at serine 47, making it ideal for investigating the regulation and function of this important protein.Raised in rabbits, this antibody exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the phosphorylated serine 47 site on Sirt1, researchers can accurately detect and analyze the protein in various cell types, providing insights into its role in cellular signaling pathways and potential implications in diseases such as cancer, metabolic disorders, and neurodegenerative conditions.
The phosphorylation of Sirt1 at serine 47 has been linked to its activity and function, making this antibody a valuable tool for understanding the regulatory mechanisms of Sirt1 and its impact on cellular processes. By utilizing this antibody in their research, scientists can gain a deeper understanding of Sirt1-mediated pathways and potentially uncover new therapeutic targets for a range of human diseases.

This gene encodes a member of the sirtuin family of proteins, homologs to the yeast Sir2 protein. Members of the sirtuin family are characterized by a sirtuin core domain and grouped into four classes. The functions of human sirtuins have not yet been determined; however, yeast sirtuin proteins are known to regulate epigenetic gene silencing and suppress recombination of rDNA. Studies suggest that the human sirtuins may function as intracellular regulatory proteins with mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase activity. The protein encoded by this gene is included in class I of the sirtuin family. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
