Description
Phospho-PPP1R2 (Ser120/Ser121) Antibody (PACO24212)
The Phospho-PPP1R2 (Ser120/Ser121) Antibody (PACO24212) is a valuable tool for researchers studying protein phosphatase 1 regulatory subunit 2 (PPP1R2) phosphorylation at serine residues 120 and 121. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blotting applications.PPP1R2 plays a key role in the regulation of protein phosphatase 1 (PP1), which is involved in numerous cellular processes including cell cycle progression, signal transduction, and gene expression. Phosphorylation of PPP1R2 at serine 120 and 121 is known to modulate its activity, making this antibody an essential tool for investigating the function of PPP1R2 in various cellular contexts.
By enabling the detection and analysis of phosphorylated PPP1R2, the PACO24212 antibody is ideal for studies in cell biology, signal transduction, and cancer research. Understanding the regulatory mechanisms of PPP1R2 phosphorylation can provide valuable insights into how PP1 activity is controlled in health and disease, making this antibody a valuable resource for researchers exploring the intricacies of cellular signaling pathways.

UniProt Protein Function: | PPP1R2: a member of the protein phosphatase inhibitor 1 family. A dopamine- and cyclic AMP-regulated neuronal phosphoprotein. Both dopaminergic and glutamatergic (NMDA) receptor stimulation regulate the extent of DARPP32 phosphorylation, but in opposite directions. Dopamine D1 receptor stimulation enhances cAMP formation, resulting in the phosphorylation of DARPP32; phosphorylated DARPP32 is a potent protein phosphatase-1 inhibitor. NMDA receptor stimulation elevates intracellular calcium, which leads to activation of calcineurin and dephosphorylation of phospho-DARPP32, thereby reducing the phosphatase-1 inhibitory activity of DARPP32. Two alternatively-spliced isoforms have been described. |
UniProt Protein Details: | Protein type:Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Protein phosphatase, regulatory subunit; Inhibitor Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3q29 Cellular Component: protein phosphatase type 1 complex Molecular Function:protein binding; type 1 serine/threonine specific protein phosphatase inhibitor activity Biological Process: generation of precursor metabolites and energy; regulation of phosphoprotein phosphatase activity |
NCBI Summary: | Protein phosphatase-1 (PP1) is one of the main eukaryotic serine/threonine phosphatases. The protein encoded by this gene binds to the catalytic subunit of PP1, strongly inhibiting its activity. Ten related pseudogenes have been found throughout the human genome. Several splice variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2015] |
