The PPP1CA Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12468) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the protein phosphatase 1 catalytic subunit alpha (PPP1CA). This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.PPP1CA is a key enzyme involved in the regulation of various cellular processes, including cell division, protein synthesis, and gene expression. Dysregulation of PPP1CA activity has been associated with a variety of diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and metabolic conditions. By specifically targeting PPP1CA, researchers can gain insights into the role of this enzyme in both normal physiological functions and disease onset and progression.
Furthermore, the PPP1CA Polyclonal Antibody is designed to specifically bind to PPP1CA, allowing for accurate detection and analysis of PPP1CA levels in different cell types and tissue samples. This makes it an essential tool for studies in molecular biology, cancer research, and drug development, providing valuable information for understanding the mechanisms underlying various diseases and identifying potential therapeutic targets.

The protein encoded by this gene is one of the three catalytic subunits of protein phosphatase 1 (PP1). This broadly expressed gene encodes the alpha subunit of the PP1 complex that associates with over 200 regulatory proteins to form holoenzymes which dephosphorylate their biological targets with high specificity. PP1 is a serine/threonine specific protein phosphatase known to be involved in the regulation of a variety of cellular processes, such as cell division, glycogen metabolism, muscle contractility, protein synthesis, and HIV-1 viral transcription. Increased PP1 activity has been observed in the end stage of heart failure. Studies suggest that PP1 is an important regulator of cardiac function and that PP1 deregulation is implicated in diabetes and multiple types of cancer. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
