The Phospho-Polr2a (S2) Polyclonal Antibody (CABP0749) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the phosphorylation of Polr2a, a key component of the RNA polymerase II complex. This antibody is generated in rabbits and is highly reactive with human, mouse, and rat samples, making it versatile for use in various experimental settings.Polr2a is known to be phosphorylated at the S2 site, which is important for the transcriptional activity of RNA polymerase II. By targeting this specific phosphorylation site, researchers can investigate the regulation of gene expression and the impact of Polr2a phosphorylation on cellular processes.
The Phospho-Polr2a (S2) Polyclonal Antibody is validated for use in Western blot and immunohistochemistry applications, allowing for precise detection and visualization of the phosphorylated form of Polr2a in different biological samples. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an essential tool for studies in transcriptional regulation, gene expression, and various disease states where Polr2a phosphorylation may be dysregulated.

This gene encodes the largest subunit of RNA polymerase II, the polymerase responsible for synthesizing messenger RNA in eukaryotes. The product of this gene contains a carboxy terminal domain composed of heptapeptide repeats that are essential for polymerase activity. These repeats contain serine and threonine residues that are phosphorylated in actively transcribing RNA polymerase. In addition, this subunit, in combination with several other polymerase subunits, forms the DNA binding domain of the polymerase, a groove in which the DNA template is transcribed into RNA.
