The PLN Polyclonal Antibody (CAB17964) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the PLN protein, which plays a key role in regulating cardiac function and calcium homeostasis in the heart. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific and reactive with human samples, making it an ideal choice for Western blot applications.PLN, also known as phospholamban, is a critical regulator of the sarcoplasmic reticulum calcium ATPase (SERCA) pump in cardiac muscle cells. Dysregulation of PLN has been linked to heart failure and other cardiac diseases, making it a promising target for therapeutic intervention.
The PLN Polyclonal Antibody enables researchers to detect and analyze PLN expression levels in various cell types, providing insights into its role in cardiac function and disease progression.By understanding the mechanisms of PLN regulation and function, researchers can uncover new therapeutic strategies for treating heart disease and improving cardiac health. The PLN Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for advancing research in cardiology and developing targeted treatments for patients with cardiovascular disorders.

The protein encoded by this gene is found as a pentamer and is a major substrate for the cAMP-dependent protein kinase in cardiac muscle. The encoded protein is an inhibitor of cardiac muscle sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca(2+)-ATPase in the unphosphorylated state, but inhibition is relieved upon phosphorylation of the protein. The subsequent activation of the Ca(2+) pump leads to enhanced muscle relaxation rates, thereby contributing to the inotropic response elicited in heart by beta-agonists. The encoded protein is a key regulator of cardiac diastolic function. Mutations in this gene are a cause of inherited human dilated cardiomyopathy with refractory congestive heart failure, and also familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
