The Phospho-PLN (S16) Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (CABP0907) is a valuable tool for studying the phosphorylation of PLN, a key regulatory protein in cardiac muscle function. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific for the phosphorylation of PLN at serine 16 and is validated for use in various applications, including Western blot and immunohistochemistry.Phospholamban (PLN) is a critical regulator of cardiac muscle contraction, and its phosphorylation at serine 16 is known to relieve its inhibitory activity on the sarcoplasmic reticulum Calcium-ATPase (SERCA) pump, leading to enhanced calcium reuptake and improved cardiac function.
The Phospho-PLN (S16) Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody enables researchers to investigate the phosphorylation status of PLN in different experimental settings, providing insights into its role in cardiac physiology and potential implications in cardiac diseases. With its high specificity and versatility in applications, the Phospho-PLN (S16) Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable asset for studies focusing on cardiovascular physiology, heart failure, and potential therapeutic interventions targeting PLN phosphorylation.

The protein encoded by this gene is found as a pentamer and is a major substrate for the cAMP-dependent protein kinase in cardiac muscle. The encoded protein is an inhibitor of cardiac muscle sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca(2+)-ATPase in the unphosphorylated state, but inhibition is relieved upon phosphorylation of the protein. The subsequent activation of the Ca(2+) pump leads to enhanced muscle relaxation rates, thereby contributing to the inotropic response elicited in heart by beta-agonists. The encoded protein is a key regulator of cardiac diastolic function. Mutations in this gene are a cause of inherited human dilated cardiomyopathy with refractory congestive heart failure, and also familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
