The MDC1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12714) is a vital tool for researchers studying MDC1, a key player in DNA damage response signaling. This antibody, developed in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the MDC1 protein, this antibody allows for accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it essential for studies in genetics, oncology, and molecular biology.MDC1, also known as mediator of DNA damage checkpoint 1, is involved in the recognition and repair of DNA double-strand breaks, a crucial process for maintaining genomic stability and preventing cancer development.
Understanding the function of MDC1 is integral to advancing research in cancer therapy, personalized medicine, and genetic disorders. The MDC1 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for investigating the role of MDC1 in DNA repair pathways and its potential as a target for novel therapeutic interventions.
Product Name:
MDC1 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB12714
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit
Reactivity:
Human,Mouse
Immunogen:
A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 1-100 of human MDC1 (NP_055456.2).
The protein encoded by this gene contains an N-terminal forkhead domain, two BRCA1 C-terminal (BRCT) motifs and a central domain with 13 repetitions of an approximately 41-amino acid sequence. The encoded protein is required to activate the intra-S phase and G2/M phase cell cycle checkpoints in response to DNA damage. This nuclear protein interacts with phosphorylated histone H2AX near sites of DNA double-strand breaks through its BRCT motifs, and facilitates recruitment of the ATM kinase and meiotic recombination 11 protein complex to DNA damage foci.
