The Phospho-MARCKS (S158) Polyclonal Antibody (CABP0402) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the phosphorylation of MARCKS protein at serine 158. MARCKS, or myristoylated alanine-rich C-kinase substrate, is a key regulator of actin cytoskeleton dynamics and is involved in various cellular processes including cell motility, adhesion, and membrane trafficking. This antibody, raised in rabbits, specifically recognizes the phosphorylated form of MARCKS at serine 158 in human samples. It has been validated for use in Western blot applications, allowing for the detection and analysis of phosphorylated MARCKS in different cell types.
This antibody is ideal for research in cell biology, neuroscience, and cancer biology where MARCKS plays a crucial role in cell signaling pathways.Understanding the phosphorylation status of MARCKS at serine 158 is important for unraveling its regulatory functions in cellular processes and its implications in various diseases such as cancer and neurological disorders. The Phospho-MARCKS (S158) Polyclonal Antibody provides a reliable tool for researchers to investigate the role of this phosphorylation event in different cellular contexts.

The protein encoded by this gene is a substrate for protein kinase C. It is localized to the plasma membrane and is an actin filament crosslinking protein. Phosphorylation by protein kinase C or binding to calcium-calmodulin inhibits its association with actin and with the plasma membrane, leading to its presence in the cytoplasm. The protein is thought to be involved in cell motility, phagocytosis, membrane trafficking and mitogenesis.
