The Phospho-LIM Domain Kinase 2 (T505) Polyclonal Antibody (CABP0388) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the phosphorylation of LIM Domain Kinase 2 at threonine 505. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot experiments. By targeting the phosphorylated form of LIM Domain Kinase 2, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of this critical regulatory protein in various cell types.LIM Domain Kinase 2 is a key signaling molecule involved in the regulation of cell migration, proliferation, and survival.
Phosphorylation at threonine 505 is known to modulate the activity of LIM Domain Kinase 2, influencing its downstream signaling pathways and cellular functions. Therefore, the Phospho-LIM Domain Kinase 2 (T505) Polyclonal Antibody is an essential tool for researchers interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying cell behavior and potential therapeutic targets for diseases such as cancer and neurodegenerative disorders.

There are approximately 40 known eukaryotic LIM proteins, so named for the LIM domains they contain. LIM domains are highly conserved cysteine-rich structures containing 2 zinc fingers. Although zinc fingers usually function by binding to DNA or RNA, the LIM motif probably mediates protein-protein interactions. LIM kinase-1 and LIM kinase-2 belong to a small subfamily with a unique combination of 2 N-terminal LIM motifs and a C-terminal protein kinase domain. The protein encoded by this gene is phosphorylated and activated by ROCK, a downstream effector of Rho, and the encoded protein, in turn, phosphorylates cofilin, inhibiting its actin-depolymerizing activity. It is thought that this pathway contributes to Rho-induced reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton. At least three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
