Description
Phospho-Histone H3 (S28) Antibody (PACO06129)
The Phospho-Histone H3 (S28) Antibody (PAC06129) is a valuable tool for research involving the phosphorylation of Histone H3 at serine 28, a critical event in the regulation of gene expression and cell division. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity for detecting phosphorylated Histone H3 (S28) in human samples, making it an essential reagent for studies in cell biology and cancer research.Histone H3 phosphorylation at serine 28 is known to play a key role in chromatin remodeling and mitotic progression, making it a crucial marker for identifying cells in various stages of the cell cycle. The Phospho-Histone H3 (S28) Antibody enables researchers to study these processes with precision, allowing for detailed analysis of cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis in both normal and disease states.
By targeting the phosphorylated form of Histone H3 at serine 28, this antibody provides valuable insights into the regulation of gene expression and cell division, offering new opportunities for understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer development and progression. Its versatility and reliability make it an essential tool for advancing our knowledge of cellular processes and identifying potential therapeutic targets for a variety of diseases.

UniProt Protein Function: | H3: Core component of nucleosome. Nucleosomes wrap and compact DNA into chromatin, limiting DNA accessibility to the cellular machineries which require DNA as a template. Histones thereby play a central role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, DNA replication and chromosomal stability. DNA accessibility is regulated via a complex set of post-translational modifications of histones, also called histone code, and nucleosome remodeling. The nucleosome is a histone octamer containing two molecules each of H2A, H2B, H3 and H4 assembled in one H3-H4 heterotetramer and two H2A-H2B heterodimers. The octamer wraps approximately 147 bp of DNA. Belongs to the histone H3 family. |

NCBI Summary: | Histones are basic nuclear proteins that are responsible for the nucleosome structure of the chromosomal fiber in eukaryotes. Two molecules of each of the four core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4) form an octamer, around which approximately 146 bp of DNA is wrapped in repeating units, called nucleosomes. The linker histone, H1, interacts with linker DNA between nucleosomes and functions in the compaction of chromatin into higher order structures. This gene is intronless and encodes a replication-dependent histone that is a member of the histone H3 family. Transcripts from this gene lack polyA tails but instead contain a palindromic termination element. This gene is found in the small histone gene cluster on chromosome 6p22-p21.3.
