The Phospho-HDAC5 (S498) Polyclonal Antibody (CABP0202) offered by Assay Genie is specifically designed for researchers studying the phosphorylation of HDAC5 at serine 498. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly reactive with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.HDAC5 is a member of the histone deacetylase family and plays a crucial role in the regulation of gene expression through the modification of histones. Phosphorylation of HDAC5 at serine 498 has been implicated in various cellular processes, including cell cycle regulation, apoptosis, and cell differentiation.
By using the Phospho-HDAC5 (S498) Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can accurately detect and analyze the phosphorylation status of HDAC5 in a variety of cell types. This antibody is an invaluable tool for studies in the fields of epigenetics, cell biology, and cancer research, providing insights into the role of HDAC5 phosphorylation in cellular function and disease development.

Histones play a critical role in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression, and developmental events. Histone acetylation/deacetylation alters chromosome structure and affects transcription factor access to DNA. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the class II histone deacetylase/acuc/apha family. It possesses histone deacetylase activity and represses transcription when tethered to a promoter. It coimmunoprecipitates only with HDAC3 family member and might form multicomplex proteins. It also interacts with myocyte enhancer factor-2 (MEF2) proteins, resulting in repression of MEF2-dependent genes. This gene is thought to be associated with colon cancer. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
