The Phospho-FADD (S194) Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (CABP1054) is a specialized research tool designed for detecting and analyzing phosphorylated FADD protein in cell signaling pathways. FADD, or Fas-associated death domain protein, is a key mediator of apoptotic cell death and plays a crucial role in regulating cell survival and death. This antibody is raised in rabbits and is highly specific to phosphorylated FADD at serine 194. It is validated for use in various research applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. By binding specifically to phospho-FADD (S194), researchers can accurately study the activation and function of FADD in different cell types and conditions, particularly in the context of cancer research and apoptosis regulation.
Understanding the phosphorylation status of FADD at serine 194 is essential for unraveling the complex mechanisms of cell death and survival pathways. This antibody provides a valuable tool for studying the role of FADD phosphorylation in various cellular processes and diseases, ultimately contributing to advancements in therapeutic targeting and treatment strategies.

The protein encoded by this gene is an adaptor molecule that interacts with various cell surface receptors and mediates cell apoptotic signals. Through its C-terminal death domain, this protein can be recruited by TNFRSF6/Fas-receptor, tumor necrosis factor receptor, TNFRSF25, and TNFSF10/TRAIL-receptor, and thus it participates in the death signaling initiated by these receptors. Interaction of this protein with the receptors unmasks the N-terminal effector domain of this protein, which allows it to recruit caspase-8, and thereby activate the cysteine protease cascade. Knockout studies in mice also suggest the importance of this protein in early T cell development.
