The Phospho-Estrogen Receptor Alpha (S118) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (CABP1004) is a valuable tool for researchers investigating the phosphorylation of estrogen receptor alpha at serine 118. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blotting applications.Estrogen receptor alpha is a crucial regulator of gene expression in response to estrogen and its phosphorylation at serine 118 plays a key role in modulating its activity. Research has shown that phosphorylation at this site can impact cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis, making it a focus of study in cancer research and hormone-related diseases.
By using the Phospho-Estrogen Receptor Alpha (S118) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody, researchers can detect and analyze the phosphorylation status of estrogen receptor alpha in various cell types, providing valuable insights into the signaling pathways involved in hormone-dependent gene regulation. This antibody is a valuable tool for understanding the role of estrogen receptor alpha phosphorylation in health and disease, and may lead to the development of targeted therapies for estrogen receptor alpha-positive cancers and other estrogen-related conditions.

This gene encodes an estrogen receptor and ligand-activated transcription factor. The canonical protein contains an N-terminal ligand-independent transactivation domain, a central DNA binding domain, a hinge domain, and a C-terminal ligand-dependent transactivation domain. The protein localizes to the nucleus where it may form either a homodimer or a heterodimer with estrogen receptor 2. The protein encoded by this gene regulates the transcription of many estrogen-inducible genes that play a role in growth, metabolism, sexual development, gestation, and other reproductive functions and is expressed in many non-reproductive tissues. The receptor encoded by this gene plays a key role in breast cancer, endometrial cancer, and osteoporosis. This gene is reported to have dozens of transcript variants due to the use of alternate promoters and alternative splicing, however, the full-length nature of many of these variants remain uncertain.
