The Phospho-ERBB2 (Y1221, 1222) Polyclonal Antibody (CABP0527) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the phosphorylation of ERBB2, a receptor tyrosine kinase involved in cell growth and differentiation. This antibody, generated in rabbits, specifically targets the phosphorylated Y1221 and Y1222 sites on the ERBB2 protein, enabling accurate detection and analysis in Western blot applications.ERBB2, also known as HER2, is a well-known oncogene that is frequently overexpressed in various cancers, including breast and ovarian cancer. Phosphorylation of specific tyrosine residues on ERBB2 is critical for activating downstream signaling pathways that promote cell proliferation and survival.
Understanding the phosphorylation status of ERBB2 is essential for developing targeted therapies that can effectively inhibit its oncogenic activity. The Phospho-ERBB2 (Y1221, 1222) Polyclonal Antibody is highly specific for the phosphorylated form of ERBB2 and is validated for use with human samples. Its versatility and reliability make it a valuable tool for researchers in the fields of oncology, cell biology, and signal transduction. By enabling precise detection and quantification of phosphorylated ERBB2, this antibody facilitates groundbreaking research that may lead to the development of novel cancer therapies.

This gene encodes a member of the epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptor family of receptor tyrosine kinases. This protein has no ligand binding domain of its own and therefore cannot bind growth factors. However, it does bind tightly to other ligand-bound EGF receptor family members to form a heterodimer, stabilizing ligand binding and enhancing kinase-mediated activation of downstream signalling pathways, such as those involving mitogen-activated protein kinase and phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase. Allelic variations at amino acid positions 654 and 655 of isoform a (positions 624 and 625 of isoform b) have been reported, with the most common allele, Ile654/Ile655, shown here. Amplification and/or overexpression of this gene has been reported in numerous cancers, including breast and ovarian tumors. Alternative splicing results in several additional transcript variants, some encoding different isoforms and others that have not been fully characterized.
