The Phospho-eIF4E (S209) Polyclonal Antibody (CABP0747) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the phosphorylation of eIF4E at serine 209, a key regulatory event in protein synthesis. This antibody, raised in rabbits, has high specificity for the phosphorylated form of eIF4E and has been validated for use in Western blot and immunohistochemistry applications.Phosphorylation of eIF4E at serine 209 is known to play a critical role in the translation of specific mRNAs involved in cell growth, proliferation, and survival. Dysregulation of this phosphorylation event has been linked to various diseases, including cancer, making the Phospho-eIF4E (S209) Polyclonal Antibody an essential tool for researchers investigating the role of eIF4E in disease progression and potential therapeutic interventions.
By enabling the detection and analysis of phosphorylated eIF4E, this antibody provides researchers with a powerful tool to deepen our understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying diseases such as cancer and identify novel targets for future drug development efforts.

The protein encoded by this gene is a component of the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4F complex, which recognizes the 7-methylguanosine cap structure at the 5' end of messenger RNAs. The encoded protein aids in translation initiation by recruiting ribosomes to the 5'-cap structure. Association of this protein with the 4F complex is the rate-limiting step in translation initiation. This gene acts as a proto-oncogene, and its expression and activation is associated with transformation and tumorigenesis. Several pseudogenes of this gene are found on other chromosomes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
