The Phospho-Crk (Y221) Polyclonal Antibody (CABP0822) is a valuable tool for researchers studying Crk, a protein involved in cellular signaling pathways and implicated in cancer progression. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. Crk is a crucial adaptor protein that mediates signal transduction in response to various extracellular stimuli, playing a key role in cell proliferation, migration, and survival. The phosphorylation of Crk at tyrosine 221 (Y221) is known to modulate its activity, affecting downstream signaling events.
By targeting the phosphorylated form of Crk at Y221, researchers can gain insights into the regulation of cellular processes and potentially identify novel therapeutic targets for cancer treatment. This antibody enables the detection and analysis of phosphorylated Crk in various cell types, making it a valuable tool for studies in cancer biology and signaling pathways. Understanding the role of phosphorylated Crk in cancer development and progression can provide valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying this disease, potentially leading to the development of targeted therapies for improved patient outcomes.

This gene encodes a member of an adapter protein family that binds to several tyrosine-phosphorylated proteins. The product of this gene has several SH2 and SH3 domains (src-homology domains) and is involved in several signaling pathways, recruiting cytoplasmic proteins in the vicinity of tyrosine kinase through SH2-phosphotyrosine interaction. The N-terminal SH2 domain of this protein functions as a positive regulator of transformation whereas the C-terminal SH3 domain functions as a negative regulator of transformation. Two alternative transcripts encoding different isoforms with distinct biological activity have been described.
