The Phospho-Cav1 (Y14) Polyclonal Antibody (CABP0742) is a valuable tool for researchers studying signaling pathways involving the phosphorylation of Cav1 at tyrosine 14. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.Cav1, also known as caveolin-1, is a key player in cell signaling, particularly in the regulation of cellular growth, differentiation, and migration. Phosphorylation of Cav1 at Y14 has been linked to various cellular processes, including the modulation of cell adhesion and migration, as well as the regulation of signaling cascades involved in cancer progression.
By using the Phospho-Cav1 (Y14) Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can investigate the role of Cav1 phosphorylation in various cell types and gain insights into its implications for cancer biology and other diseases. This antibody is a valuable tool for studies aiming to unravel the complex signaling networks involving Cav1 and its phosphorylation status.

The scaffolding protein encoded by this gene is the main component of the caveolae plasma membranes found in most cell types. The protein links integrin subunits to the tyrosine kinase FYN, an initiating step in coupling integrins to the Ras-ERK pathway and promoting cell cycle progression. The gene is a tumor suppressor gene candidate and a negative regulator of the Ras-p42/44 mitogen-activated kinase cascade. Caveolin 1 and caveolin 2 are located next to each other on chromosome 7 and express colocalizing proteins that form a stable hetero-oligomeric complex. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Berardinelli-Seip congenital lipodystrophy. Alternatively spliced transcripts encode alpha and beta isoforms of caveolin 1.
