The Phospho-ATM (S1981) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (CABP1030) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the ATM protein, which plays a crucial role in DNA damage response and repair mechanisms. This antibody, derived from rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and is validated for use in Western blotting applications. The ATM protein, when phosphorylated at serine 1981, becomes activated and initiates downstream signaling pathways involved in cell cycle regulation and apoptosis. Dysregulation of ATM signaling is linked to various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders, making it an important target for research.
With its high reactivity and specificity, the Phospho-ATM (S1981) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody enables precise detection and analysis of ATM phosphorylation status in various cell types. Its utility in studying DNA damage response pathways makes it an essential tool for researchers investigating mechanisms of disease development and potential therapeutic targets.

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the PI3/PI4-kinase family. This protein is an important cell cycle checkpoint kinase that phosphorylates; thus, it functions as a regulator of a wide variety of downstream proteins, including tumor suppressor proteins p53 and BRCA1, checkpoint kinase CHK2, checkpoint proteins RAD17 and RAD9, and DNA repair protein NBS1. This protein and the closely related kinase ATR are thought to be master controllers of cell cycle checkpoint signaling pathways that are required for cell response to DNA damage and for genome stability. Mutations in this gene are associated with ataxia telangiectasia, an autosomal recessive disorder.
