The ALOX5 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2158) is a powerful tool for researchers studying ALOX5, an enzyme involved in the production of leukotrienes, lipid mediators known for their role in inflammation and allergic reactions. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity for ALOX5 in human samples, making it an ideal choice for Western blot applications.ALOX5, also known as 5-lipoxygenase, is a key player in the arachidonic acid pathway and is essential for the synthesis of leukotrienes, which contribute to the pathogenesis of asthma, allergies, and inflammatory diseases. By targeting ALOX5, researchers can gain insights into the underlying mechanisms of these diseases and potentially develop novel therapeutics to modulate leukotriene production.
With its ability to detect ALOX5 in various cell types, the ALOX5 Polyclonal Antibody is indispensable for studies in immunology, inflammation, and respiratory diseases. By understanding the role of ALOX5 in leukotriene biosynthesis, researchers can pave the way for innovative treatments targeting this enzyme and its downstream signaling pathways. Unlock the potential of ALOX5 research with the reliable and specific ALOX5 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2158).

This gene encodes a member of the lipoxygenase gene family and plays a dual role in the synthesis of leukotrienes from arachidonic acid. The encoded protein, which is expressed specifically in bone marrow-derived cells, catalyzes the conversion of arachidonic acid to 5(S)-hydroperoxy-6-trans-8,11,14-cis-eicosatetraenoic acid, and further to the allylic epoxide 5(S)-trans-7,9-trans-11,14-cis-eicosatetrenoic acid (leukotriene A4). Leukotrienes are important mediators of a number of inflammatory and allergic conditions. Mutations in the promoter region of this gene lead to a diminished response to antileukotriene drugs used in the treatment of asthma and may also be associated with atherosclerosis and several cancers. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
