Description
PGK1 Monoclonal Antibody [PAT2F4AT] (CPAB0213)
The PGK1 Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0213) is a valuable tool for researchers studying PGK1, a key enzyme involved in glycolysis and ATP generation. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to PGK1, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of PGK1 expression in various cell types, making it an ideal choice for studies in metabolism, cancer research, and other related fields.
PGK1 is essential for cellular energy production and has been implicated in cancer development and progression. Its role in promoting cell growth and survival under hypoxic conditions makes it a promising target for therapeutic interventions in cancer treatment. By investigating the function and regulation of PGK1, researchers can gain insights into its potential as a target for developing novel cancer therapies and understanding metabolic reprogramming in cancer cells.

Background: | PGK1 is an X-linked enzyme that has a major role in the glycolytic pathway. PGK1 is a glycolytic enzyme which catalyzes the conversion of 1,3-diphosphoglycerate to 3-phosphoglycerate, generating an ATP molecule. PGK1 may also act as a cofactor for polymerase alpha. Defects in the PGK1 gene are usually associated with chronic hemolytic anemia, though it can be accompanied by either mental retardation or muscular disease (rhabdomyolysis). Overexpression of PGK1 and its signalling targets are possibly an expression-pathway in diffuse primary gastric carcinomas promoting peritoneal dissemination. It was shown that PGK1 is differentially expressed in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex from patients with schizophrenia. |
