The PGD Polyclonal Antibody (CAB17794) is a valuable tool for researchers studying PGD, an enzyme involved in the prostaglandin biosynthesis pathway. Raised in rabbits, this antibody is highly specific for detecting PGD protein in human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to PGD, researchers can accurately analyze its expression in various cell types, making this antibody essential for studies in inflammation, pain, and cancer research.PGD, also known as prostaglandin D2 synthase, plays a key role in inflammation and pain by catalyzing the conversion of prostaglandin H2 into prostaglandin D2.
Dysregulation of PGD has been implicated in various inflammatory conditions and diseases, making it a target of interest for drug development and therapeutic interventions. Understanding the function of PGD is crucial for unraveling its role in inflammation-related disorders and for developing novel treatments to target this enzyme.

The piggyBac family of proteins, found in diverse animals, are transposases related to the transposase of the canonical piggyBac transposon from the moth, Trichoplusia ni. This family also includes genes in several genomes, including human, that appear to have been derived from the piggyBac transposons. This gene belongs to the subfamily of piggyBac transposable element derived (PGBD) genes. The PGBD proteins appear to be novel, with no obvious relationship to other transposases, or other known protein families. This gene product is specifically expressed in the brain, however, its exact function is not known. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein.
