The Peroxiredoxin-2 (PRDX2) Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for research involving PRDX2, a crucial antioxidant enzyme that plays a key role in protecting cells from oxidative stress. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the PRDX2 protein, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of PRDX2 in a variety of cell types, making it an excellent choice for studies in oxidative stress, aging, and disease research.PRDX2 is a member of the peroxiredoxin family, which are essential for maintaining cellular redox balance and protecting against oxidative damage. As a key player in the antioxidant defense system, PRDX2 is involved in regulating multiple cellular processes, including cell proliferation, apoptosis, and signal transduction pathways.
Dysregulation of PRDX2 has been linked to various diseases, such as cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and cardiovascular diseases, highlighting its importance as a potential therapeutic target.Research on PRDX2 is crucial for understanding its role in oxidative stress-related conditions and developing strategies to modulate its activity for therapeutic purposes. The PRDX2 Polyclonal Antibody provides researchers with a reliable tool for investigating the function and regulation of PRDX2 in different biological contexts, advancing our knowledge of cellular redox signaling and its implications for human health.

This gene encodes a member of the peroxiredoxin family of antioxidant enzymes, which reduce hydrogen peroxide and alkyl hydroperoxides. The encoded protein plays an antioxidant protective role in cells, and it may contribute to the antiviral activity of CD8(+) T-cells. The crystal structure of this protein has been resolved to 2.7 angstroms. This protein prevents hemolytic anemia from oxidative stress by stabilizing hemoglobin, thus making this gene a therapeutic target for patients with hemolytic anemia. This protein may have a proliferative effect and play a role in cancer development or progression. Related pseudogenes have been identified on chromosomes 5, 6, 10 and 13.
