The DX5 anti-mouse CD49b Antibody (AGEL3255) is a powerful tool for researchers studying immune cell populations within the mouse model system. This monoclonal antibody specifically targets CD49b, a surface marker found on natural killer (NK) cells and a subset of T cells. By utilizing this antibody, researchers can effectively identify and isolate CD49b-positive cells for further analysis, whether for flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, or other research applications.CD49b, also known as DX5, is a key molecule involved in the function and regulation of NK cells, which play a crucial role in the body's immune response against infected or cancerous cells. The ability to accurately detect and quantify CD49b expression is essential for understanding the role of NK cells in immunity, inflammation, and disease progression.
Researchers can rely on the DX5 anti-mouse CD49b Antibody (AGEL3255) for its specificity, sensitivity, and reproducibility in experimental settings. With its high reactivity and validation for mouse samples, this antibody is a valuable resource for studies in immunology, cancer research, and beyond. By targeting CD49b with precision, researchers can gain deeper insights into the functions and behavior of NK cells, paving the way for advancements in therapeutic strategies against infections, tumors, and other immune-related conditions.

Background:
DX5 antigen has been recently characterized as CD49b. It is a 150 kD integrin α chain also known as α2 integrin, VLA-2 α chain, and integrin α2 chain. CD49b non-covalently associates with CD29 (β1 integrin) to form the CD49b/CD29 complex known as VLA-2, a receptor for collagen and laminin. CD49b is expressed on platelets, the majority of NK cells, NKT cells, and a small subset of CD8+ T cells (this population can be significantly increased following viral infection). DX5 is used for the identification and isolation of NK cells, and is especially useful for identifying NK cells in mice lacking the NK1.1 antigen.
