The PERCP Anti-Human CD16 Antibody (3G8) is a powerful tool for researchers interested in studying CD16 expression on human cells, particularly in the context of immune responses and cell-mediated cytotoxicity. This antibody, produced by Assay Genie, specifically targets the CD16 protein, a crucial cell surface receptor involved in antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) and immune cell activation. The PERCP Anti-Human CD16 Antibody (3G8) is optimized for flow cytometry applications, allowing for precise identification and quantification of CD16-expressing cells within complex cellular populations. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it a reliable choice for investigating the role of CD16 in immune cell function, differentiation, and response to therapeutic interventions.
With its ability to accurately detect CD16 on human cells, the PERCP Anti-Human CD16 Antibody (3G8) is an essential tool for researchers exploring the mechanisms of immune cell activation, response to pathogens, and development of immunotherapy strategies. By enabling detailed analysis of CD16 expression patterns, this antibody contributes to a deeper understanding of immune system dynamics and offers insights that can inform the development of novel treatment approaches for infectious diseases, autoimmune disorders, and cancer.

Background:
CD16 is a 60 kD highly glycosylated protein. It is a member of the Ig superfamily and is also known as B7-1, B7, and Ly-53. CD16 is constitutively expressed on dendritic cells and monocytes/macrophages, and inducibly expressed on activated B and T cells. The ligation of CD28 on T cells with CD16 and CD86 (B7-2) on antigen presenting cells (such as dendritic cells, macrophages, and B cells) elicits co-stimulation of T cells resulting in enhanced cell activation, proliferation, and cytokine production. CD16 appears to be expressed later in the immune response than CD86. CD16 can also bind to CD152, also known as CTLA-4, to deliver an inhibitory signal to T cells.
