The PE-GenieFluor 594 Anti-Mouse F4/80 Antibody (CI:A3-1) is a highly specific monoclonal antibody designed for research applications involving the mouse F4/80 protein, a well-known marker for macrophages in various tissues. This antibody, validated for use in flow cytometry and immunofluorescence assays, specifically targets the F4/80 protein, allowing for precise detection and visualization of macrophages in mouse samples.F4/80 is a glycoprotein expressed on the surface of mature macrophages and is widely used as a marker to identify and study macrophage populations in tissues and organs. Macrophages play critical roles in immune response, tissue homeostasis, and inflammation, making the F4/80 marker an essential tool in immunology and pathology research.
By targeting this key protein, the PE-GenieFluor 594 Anti-Mouse F4/80 Antibody enables researchers to investigate the role of macrophages in various biological processes and diseases, including inflammation, infection, and cancer. With its high specificity and sensitivity, this antibody is a valuable tool for studying macrophage biology and function in diverse experimental settings. Researchers can rely on the PE-GenieFluor 594 Anti-Mouse F4/80 Antibody to provide accurate and reliable results, contributing to a deeper understanding of macrophage-mediated immune responses and related pathologies in preclinical and basic research studies.

Background:
F4/80 is a 160 kD glycoprotein. It is characterized as a member of the epidermal growth factor (EGF)-transmembrane 7 (TM7) family. F4/80, also known as EMR1 or Ly71, has been widely used as a murine macrophage marker, which is expressed on the majority of tissue macrophages including peritoneal macrophages, macrophages in lung, gut, thymus and red pulp of spleen (but not on the macrophages located in T cell areas of the spleen, lymph node and Peyer's patch), Kuffer cells, Langerhans cells, and bone marrow stromal cells. F4/80 has also been shown on a subset of dendritic cells. The biological ligand of F4/80 has not been identified, but it has been reported that F4/80 is required for induction of CD8+ T cells-mediated peripheral tolerance.
